What "Speedrun" Means Here
Big Walk is a co-op hangout, not a twitch game — so "speedrunning" mostly means shaving the route and using travel unlocks early. There's no competitive leaderboard we track, but the community's fastest clear is a route problem, not a button-mash problem.
The Route Is the Real Skip
The single biggest time-saver is tower order. Clearing towers in the right sequence unlocks the Map Room (Red), Chairlift (Green), Tunnels (Yellow) and Monorail (Blue) — each one shortens every later trip. The recommended Red → Green → Yellow → Blue route is also the fastest because the later unlocks (tunnels, then monorail) are the strongest travel tools. Full reasoning on the best tower order page.
Verified Movement Shortcuts
- Tunnels — unlocked after the Yellow Tower; the fastest way to cross the island. See how to unlock tunnels.
- Monorail — unlocked after the Blue Tower; long-distance loops past seven stations. See how to start the train.
- Stacking — four players stacked reach high switches and clear walls without a gadget. See getting over walls.
Unverified Skips & Glitches
You'll see clip-through and collision "skips" shared in community clips. Treat these as unverified: they depend on the exact build, can desync a co-op session, and may be patched without notice. We don't publish specific glitch routes because we can't confirm they survive the current patch. If you want to try them, do it in a private session and don't rely on them for a shared run.
Stay Current With Patches
Because glitch skips shift with updates, the durable speedrun knowledge is route and travel unlocks — both covered on our tower and movement pages. For patch-specific changes, follow the official updates hub and the dev channels.
