Big Walk Items & Tools — What You Carry

Almost everything you 'use' in Big Walk is an item in your backpack. Here's the full list of tools and toys, what each does, and how the inventory fits the co-op design.

What You Carry

Big Walk hands you a backpack of talky, shiny, signal-y objects at the start — there's no deep RPG inventory, just a set of gadgets that are the core verbs of the game. Our tools & toys guide covers the movement systems too; this page focuses on the items themselves.

The Tools & Toys

  • Flashlight — light dark spaces and signal to friends.
  • Camera — capture the world; useful for sharing finds.
  • Binoculars — scout far sights and landmarks.
  • Compass — orient yourself (and a clue for the map room).
  • Bell — a loud, silly attention-getter.
  • Flare — a bright marker visible across the island.
  • Radio — tune to the music stations (collectibles).

The Walkie-Talkie & Proximity Voice

The standout item is the walkie-talkie, paired with the game's proximity voice system: your real voice fades with distance and crackles through the radio when far apart. It's the main way separated teammates stay in touch. See communication tools for the full picture.

How the Inventory Works

Items are shared gadgets rather than collectible loot — you don't grind for them, you're given the set and figure out creative uses as a team. That's the point: the fun is combining simple objects with real conversation.

For movement items (train, cable car, tunnels), see tools & toys. The shiny makeover uses items too — see get shiny.
